Abstract:

Introduction. Continuing education of physician society as a part of human power education is especially important. For changing methods of behavior, reasoning and professional culture, the study of the level of physicians’ motivation for enrolling in the programs is necessary. To determine the relationship of 7 indicators as motivation factors which consist of: Convenience, Relevance, Individualization, Self-Assessment, Interest, Speculation and Systematic has been the objective of this research. Methods. The tool for gathering data was a questionnaire with 22 questions which its reliability determined 0.68. The sample number was 36 physicians in Markazi province. The data was analyzed by chi2 test and SPSS software. Results. This research showed a significant relationship between all the criteria of establishing motivation in physicians (p=0.0001). Coefficient of correlation was 0.841 in individualization, 0.809 in convenience, 0.605 in relevance, 0.523 in speculation, 0.509 in systemic, 0.491 in self-assessment and 0.483 in creation of interest. No significant relationship between sex, record of service and level of acquired licenses as an indicator was observed, but there was a significant relationship between place of activity and interest and convenience indicators (p<0.05). Conclusion. This research showed that the creation of motivation will be more if physicians are asked for participating in programming and express their opinion about programs and the time and place of the programs. Also, their anxiousness will be stimulated if there is relevancy between educations and treatment needs, frequent disease, giving new treatment methods and improvement the procedure of diagnosis and treatment.
